BISHOP LAWRENCE R. ROBERTSON is a senior executive with success in ministry, team recruitment, building and management and strategic planning growth organizations.

A native of Hawkins, Texas, after graduating High School, he relocated to Oakland, California; became a born again believer and devoted his life to ministry. During this time he attended Merritt Community College earning his National Certified License from the American Registry of Radiological Technologists. Shortly thereafter he was drafted into the United States Army and stationed at Fort Lewis Military Base in Tacoma, Washington. Pursuing his call to ministry, Bishop Robertson continued his education at Tacoma Community College, where he received his Associate of Arts degree and later his Bachelor of Arts degree from Pacific Lutheran University.

In January 1978, he founded Emmanuel Apostolic Church and held the first worship service in an apartment building on Bremerton’s west side. Today he is well known for his charismatic, enlightened presentation of the gospel, and has provided spiritual guidance to a growing congregation of enthusiastic believers for over 38 years. Through the years, Emmanuel has developed into one of the largest influences on the Kitsap Peninsula, highly involved in the community and instrumental in providing services that address the spiritual, physical, and social needs of society.

Having developed a reputation for quality and excellence in ministry, many doors and many destined opportunities have opened to this intrepid leader, including receiving an honorary doctorate from Aenon Bible College. Through his vision and tenacity, plans to break ground with the first of 3 phases of a major expansion project are on the horizon. The first project is a 20,000 sq. ft. youth and family center, The Marvin Williams Center and Birkenfeld Economic Development Center. The complex is slated to provide leadership in education, economic development, wellness, and recreation. In later phases, a new sanctuary and elementary school are in the plans.
